Hi.
In the main page (http://xubuntu.org) there is an information about time
of support Xubuntu 14.04.4 LTS:

"Xubuntu 14.04 LTS

Xubuntu 14.04.4 LTS was released on February 18, 2016. The LTS release
is supported until April 2017 and is the recommended version for all
environments that require stability.

DownloadRelease announcement (.2)"

Perhaps it is a mistake - April 2017, because LTS versions of Ubuntu are
supported until 2019. Am I wrong?

Thank you.
Sulimo.

This is not a mistake; Xubuntu LTS releases are supported for 3 years only.

This means that since the Ubuntu base system is supported for 5 years,
you will get updates for that for 5 years, but the Xubuntu-specific
packages aren't supported after 3 years. You are generally advised to
upgrade after 3 years; the next LTS is already available at that point.

Cheers,
Pasi
