Question about reasons behind Thunderbird

How come Thunderbird is the standard email-client? Not that it's bad,
but I recently switched to Evolution, and I find that it fits better in
Xubuntu theme-wise than Thunderbird. And in my own humble opinion I
also find it easier to get an overview in Evolution than in
Thunderbird.
I'm not suggesting that Xubuntu should come with Evolution, I'm just
curious of the reasons behind using Thunderbird.

Regards

I have preferred thunderbird to evolution in the past. But at the same time
I haven't tried thunderbird in a while.

Maybe a mad suggestion, one out of left field. But what about removing all
the games?

Hi Eric,

Regarding removal of all games, I wouldn't suggest it. My suggestion of how
to improve games was sent to the ML two weeks ago.

I find that it fits better in Xubuntu theme-wise than Thunderbird
I never use XFCE as eye candy.  Thunderbird offers more feature,
performance, security and stability than others. Evolution is like GNOME
software.

As we are expressing opinions on personal preferences and I am impressed
with one too.

Ubuntu-mate, I came across it recently , is by far the best ubuntu desktop
compare to all the rest in many many ways including any fedora or mint or
any other *nix may have to offer.

It is noticeably fast even compare to gnome.

Nah, I did'nt mean to express my personal opinions, I was just curious
about why Thunderbird is the default email-client. And, ok, ofc I can
have a personal opinion about Thunderbird vs Evolution, but I'm not
questioning the fact that Xubuntu comes with Thunderbird. And I think I
kept myself within the boundries of XFCE/Xubuntu...
