Hi everyone.
Now that we're past the Documentation String Freeze [1], it's time to focus
on the packages used by and essential for Xubuntu [2] and on the Xubuntu
installer slideshow for this release [3].
Even though this last call aims in particular the translations of the
mentioned packages, I also want to ask of you one last effort towards the
Xubuntu Documentation.
As you probably already know, Xenial will bring a few changes, like the
absence of a default media manager and the replacement of Ubuntu Software
Center for Gnome Software, for instance.
The Xubuntu Documentation team has finished the necessary updates so this
changes are reflected in the documentation.
That said, we now have quite a lot of untranslated, and unreviewed strings,
in the Xenial documentation [4].
Translators, please take some time to make one last effort, so the number
of shipped translations increases from the actual six we're shipping now.
Reviewers, please take some time to go through the proposed strings so the
work done on them isn't gone into waste.
For those who this is going to be their first effort translating, we
strongly ask you to have a thorough read of the Xubuntu Translation
Guidelines [5], which outlines our guidelines and conventions.
If you have any further questions or concerns about translating, we will be
happy to assist you and answer your questions. You can contact us by
sending an email to the Xubuntu developers mailing list [6] or by joining
the IRC channel #xubuntu-devel (on Freenode).
On behalf of the Xubuntu documentation team,
David Pires (slickymaster)
